This is just to note that the links for reporting tenure-track, postdoctoral, and VAP hires from 2013-2014 have been placed in the upper-right sidebar of this blog. This should facilitate the reporting and monitoring of this information. Further, both Daily Nous and ProPhilosophy have plans to integrate the information into their sites in an easier to view format. Thank you to all of the commenters at the original posting and to all those who have already stepped up to help with this effort.

Since this is the first time Daily Nous has been mentioned on New APPS, I just wanted to use the occasion to recommend this new blog. I think it is really important for there to be a place where news about the profession is available and discussions about topics relevant to the profession can occur that isn’t also a place where the opinions of the blog moderator(s) take center stage. There is, of course, great value in having sites that have a more “editorial” slant. New APPS is itself a great example of this. But it would be nice for the primary source of news about the profession to be a place that is not associated with the opinions of one or more individuals.
Daily Nous has the further advantage of not being anonymously moderated.LikeLike
